Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how frost.rip ("the Service") collects, uses, and protects your personal information. By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in this policy. We are committed to safeguarding your privacy and being transparent about the data we handle.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Discord account information: When you sign in, we receive your Discord user ID, username, email address, and avatar from Discord's OAuth2 service
  • Profile data: Display name, custom username, bio, and avatar image that you provide when setting up your frost.rip profile
  • Links and content: The links, link groups, and associated metadata you create on the platform
  • Uploaded files: Images, videos, and other files you host on frost.rip, along with their filenames, titles, file size, view counts, and upload time. This includes files you mark as private
  • Platform usage data: Page views, link clicks, and anonymous, cookie-free usage data collected through Vercel Analytics
  • Account editing activity: After your account's first 24 hours, we record profile editing sessions against your frost.rip account. Each record contains the session's exact start and last-edit times and the number of successful editing operations. We do not store the profile values or mutation arguments in these records
  • Visit information: IP addresses and user-agent strings for profile visit tracking and deduplication, processed in an anonymized manner

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information for the following purposes:

  • To create and maintain your account and public profile page
  • To display your links and profile information to visitors
  • To provide analytics about visits to your profile and clicks on your links
  • To improve and maintain the Service
  • To measure, in aggregate, whether account holders return to edit their profiles
  • To prevent abuse and enforce our Terms of Service

4. Moderation and Administrator Access

To keep the Service safe and comply with our Terms of Service, we moderate the content hosted on frost.rip. You should understand what this means before uploading anything:

  • Administrators can view every hosted file. frost.rip administrators have access to an admin panel that lists all uploaded files, including previews, filenames, file size, view counts, and the account that uploaded them. This includes files marked as private. Marking a file private hides it from other users and from public pages; it does not hide it from administrators
  • Uploads are automatically screened. When you upload a file, it is checked against an automated content-safety service before it is stored. Images are sent to that service for analysis; for videos, a single extracted frame is sent. For all other file types, only the filename and title are sent. Uploads that fail this check are refused
  • Reported content is reviewed by a person. When another user reports a file, an administrator reviews the file and the report to decide whether to remove it
  • Content may be removed or accounts suspended. We may take down files, suspend accounts, and retain records of moderation actions, including after the content itself is removed

Administrator access is used for moderation, abuse prevention, support, and legal compliance only. We do not browse hosted files for any other reason, and we do not sell or share them with advertisers. Because of the above, please do not use frost.rip to store confidential or sensitive personal information.

5. Third-Party Services

frost.rip relies on third-party services to operate. Your data, including uploaded files, is processed by these providers, each of which has its own privacy policy governing how they handle it:

  • Discord: Authentication. We receive basic profile information through OAuth2
  • Infrastructure providers: Established providers handle application hosting, database hosting, storage and delivery of uploaded files, image and video processing, short-lived caching, error monitoring, and privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics
  • Content-safety provider: Uploads are screened by OpenAI's moderation service, as described in section 4. Images, and a single extracted frame for videos, are sent to that service. For all other file types, only the filename and title are sent
  • AI help assistant: Messages you send to the in-app help assistant are forwarded through OpenRouter to a model provider to generate a reply

We may add or change providers as the Service evolves. If you want the current list of the specific companies that process your data, contact us and we will provide it.

6. Cookies and Tracking

frost.rip uses a session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies. Our platform analytics collect anonymous usage data without placing cookies on your device. The account editing activity described in section 2 is linked to your frost.rip account and is not anonymous. No data is sold to or shared with advertisers.

7. Data Retention

Your profile data, links, and account information are retained for as long as your account is active. Uploaded files are stored until you delete them or your account is removed. Note that a file taken down through moderation is hidden from view rather than immediately erased, so that the action can be reviewed or reversed. Visit analytics data such as IP addresses used for deduplication are stored temporarily and automatically expire. Account editing activity is retained while your account remains active unless you use Clear analytics in the dashboard; it is also removed when you delete your account. Clear analytics keeps only editing activity recorded after that clear began. Cached data has short time-to-live values and is automatically purged. If you delete your account, your profile and associated data will be removed from our systems.

8. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information, including using HTTPS encryption for all data in transit and relying on trusted infrastructure providers. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Update or correct your profile information at any time through the dashboard
  • Delete your account and associated data
  • Clear your profile and link analytics from the dashboard
  • Request a copy of your data by contacting us

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

12. Contact

If you have any questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy or your data, please reach out via our Discord community or through the contact information on the frost.rip website.
